Welcome to 'Fantasy' ~ The Fanlisting for the Henry Fuseli, listed at the Fanlisting Network.

Born in Switzerland in 1741, Henry Fuseli was a Romantic painter, as well as a draughtsman and art-writer. Over the course of his life he produced more than 200 paintings and about 800 sketches and designs, many of which possess a literary theme. He brought to life numerous scenes from Shakespeare and Milton, among others, displaying a grotesque humour and often emphasising the supernatural. His most famous works "The Nightmare", exhibited in 1782, illustrates both qualities. In 1790 he was made an Academician of the Royal Academy of Art. He died, aged 84, in 1825 and is buried in the crypt of St Paul's Cathedral.
